This page has the following resources to help you find legal services in Washington State:

Status Entering the U.S.
Most Afghans arriving since August 2021 in the United States entered as a humanitarian parolee, on a Special Immigrant Visa, or as a refugee. Learn more about these immigration legal statuses below or review an overview presentation.

Legal Status in the U.S.
There are several ways to achieve long-term legal status in the United States. Some of these options can be done together, for instance pursuing both asylum and SIV status.

Family Outside the U.S.
Afghan families in the U.S. continue to worry about their loved ones abroad given the lack of clarity in pathways for them to reunite. Some organizations are maintaining evacuation lists for SIV-approved Afghans and family members and other groups. Contact your resettlement agency for assistance with evacuation lists.

Connecting with Legal Services
If you need support with immigration legal services not offered by your refugee resettlement agency or you do not have a refugee resettlement agency in Washington State, other Legal Services Providers or Private Attorneys may be able to help.
