Seattle Public Library
The Seattle Public Library hosts public events where English learners can practice together. The Conversation Circles Calendar lists upcoming events being held online or at different library branches. You must register before attending these events, so click on one you want to attend and complete the registration form for the event. You will be given a ZOOM link and additional information after registering.
The King County Library system is located throughout King County, outside of the City of Seattle. It provides job training, US citizenship test preparation, resources for refugees and new arrivals, and most importantly, English learning classes.

The Refugee Resettlement Office in Auburn, WA offers free English classes for clients who have been in the country for less than five years, as well as those referred by DSHS. These classes focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Some employers in King County partner with the RRO to offer on-site English classes as well.

The City of Seattle operates the Ready To Work program which offers no-cost English courses for immigrants and those looking to improve their English proficiency. Classes are offered online and in-person at different locations throughout the city. For more information about enrollment, please contact one of the following locations:

Snoqualmie Valley School District
To request translation services from the Snoqualmie Valley School District, you can contact your school or email a completed Interpreter Request Form to langauges@svsd410.org.

My name is ____ and I am the parent of ____. I want to talk with you about my child. Can you please call me with an interpreter who speaks ____? My phone number is: ____. Thank you.
- If you receive a written notice, an email, or other document in English and you do not understand it, ask the person who sent it for a translation into your language.
- If the person cannot provide a full written translation in time, ask to meet with a school staff person and an interpreter to have the document orally translated, with enough time for you to take notes.
